Winovitch named District facilities director


Robert Winovitch has been selected as the Director of Facilities and Construction for the Lake Travis Independent School District. Mr. Winovitch will replace Jim Ratcliff who will retire from the district in December.

A native of Temple City, California, Mr. Winovitch earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Design/Architecture from Texas A&M University.  While at A&M, he was a member of the Corps of Cadets and the rifle team. Mr. Winovitch is a retired major with the United States Army National Guard. He is also a veteran of ‘Operation Iraqi Freedom’ and his unit received the Valorous Unit Award for extraordinary heroism during combat operations.

Mr. Winovitch’s professional career in architecture and project management spans more than 25 years. He has worked in both private and public sectors in Dallas and Austin with numerous firms including HKS, Inc., Danze & Davis Architects & Venture Four Architects, Fitzpatrick Architects, and J. Robinson & Associates Architects.  Currently, Mr. Winovitch serves as Facility Resources, Compliance and Construction Manager at Lake Travis ISD, a position he has held since 2010.

As LTISD Director of Facilities and Construction, Mr. Winovitch will oversee the planning, design and construction of district facilities.

“Robert possesses a great wealth of knowledge and experience that have served our district well,” LTISD Assistant Superintendent for Business, Financial and Auxiliary Services Johnny Hill said. “Working alongside Jim, Robert began and completed our most recent $158.5 million bond project, ensuring that all projects were done on time and within budget. We look forward to Robert’s expertise and contributions as we begin to plan additional facilities to accommodate our continued increase in student enrollment.”
