The season of inclement weather is upon us. And while weather in Central Texas can turn at a moment’s notice complicating emergency response processes, rest assured, Lake Travis Independent School District officials have plans in place that focus on the safety of our students.
LTISD officials take into consideration several factors before a decision is made to delay school, dismiss school early, or cancel school during periods of inclement weather. These primary factors include:
· The health, safety and welfare of students;
· The transportation of students from home to school and back; and
· The disruption caused when school starts late, dismisses early or is cancelled.
Each weather incident is unique, and each will require unique considerations.
