Superintendent Dr. Brad Lancaster is pleased to announce the selection of Tamey Williams-Hill as the district’s new director of human resources, effective January 4, 2016. She replaces Holly Morris-Kuentz who has assumed leadership of the programs and departments most recently supervised by Susan Bohn which include communications, community programs, and corporate relations.
A native of Thrall, TX, Dr. Williams-Hill earned bachelor’s degrees in social work and English, master’s degrees in social work and education, and a doctorate degree in school improvement—all from Texas State University. She began her career in education in 2001 as a Language Arts teacher at Small Middle School in the Austin school district. Dr. Williams-Hill then served as Assistant Principal at Fulmore Middle School and later returned to Small Middle School where she assumed duties and responsibilities as Assistant Principal and Transition Specialist. Most recently, Dr. Williams-Hill served as the Administrative Staffing Coordinator with the Austin school district’s Human Resources department. She also serves as adjunct faculty at Concordia University and the curriculum and instruction program at Texas State University.
Working with Ms. Morris-Kuentz, Dr. Williams-Hill will be responsible for leadership in the implementation of human resource programs to include wage and salary administration, leave administration, performance appraisal and records, recruitment, employee relations and benefits.
“This is a critical position for us,” Dr. Lancaster said. “Dr. Williams-Hill brings with her more than 15 years of experience as a professional educator, and in particular, as a public school administrator that will serve her well as she focuses on hiring and retaining highly-qualified staff for our district. Dr. Williams-Hill will be a great fit for our district and the Lake Travis community.”
Dr. Williams-Hill and her husband, Roman, have two children: Darian and Ariel.
