LTHS PALs recognized as LT Chamber ‘Rising Star’

The Lake Travis High School Peer Assistance and Leadership program—better known as PALs—has been awarded the 2015 Rising Star award by the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce.  The Rising Star Award is presented to a youth or youth organization who has devoted time and energy to the betterment of others and the community.

PALs is committed to providing students with trained peer helpers who promote a positive, supportive and productive school experience for students throughout Lake Travis ISD.  This is a junior/senior class that students must be nominated, interviewed, and invited to join. PALs visits elementary and middle schools as well as assisted living homes throughout the Lake Travis ISD community.  The program is sponsored by LTHS teacher Travis Rendon.

Other LTISD employees, students and programs nominated for Chamber awards include Suzanne Stone (Unsung Hero); Hudson Bend Middle School, Lake Travis Junior Chamber of Commerce, Lake Travis High School sophomore Koby Wheeler (Rising Star); and the Lake Travis Education Foundation (Shining Star).
