The new school year means a bright beginning for students across Lake Travis ISD, and none more so than for students at Bee Cave Elementary School.
Days before the first day of school, Waco, TX-based Pruf Energy Solutions completed the retrofitting of the entire BCE campus with an LED lighting system. The LTISD school board approved the use of $229,998 from the district’s 2012 bond program to fund the project.
“LED lights enhance the learning environment and provide the district with an estimated energy savings of more than $27,000 annually,” said Johnny Hill, LTISD Assistant Superintendent for Business and Financial Services.
According to Pruf, Lake Travis ISD is the first K-12 district to implement the technology.
