Students at Hudson Bend Middle School visited more than 40 locations throughout Lake Travis and Greater Austin on Nov. 18, beautifying local parks, mentoring younger students, and working with the elderly during its second annual Day of Service.
In 2014, Hudson Bend MS was selected as a Texas Schools to Watch®, a recognition program which highlights middle schools for academic excellence, responsiveness to the needs and interests of young adolescents, and its commitment to helping all students achieve at high levels.
“Being selected as a 2014 Texas Schools to Watch, students and teachers at Hudson Bend Middle School have always done great things in the classroom,” Hudson Bend Middle School principal Mark Robinson said. “We also know the success of our school would not be possible without the support of parents, families, and the great people of the Lake Travis community. Receiving all of this support, HBMS wanted to find a way to give back to the community and instill a nature of caring in our students. The Day of Service is our way of giving back to this great community that supports all we do here in Lake Travis ISD.”
