Baseball head coach Rogers collects 600th career win

On March 12, 2016, Lake Travis High School Baseball head baseball coach Mike Rogers picked up his 600th career victory in a 4-0 win over Buda Hays High School.  The 2016 season marked Coach Rogers’ 32nd year as a head baseball coach and his third year at Lake Travis High School.  During his career, teams lead by Coach Rogers have made the playoffs 27 times.  He has been named ‘Coach of the Year’ a total of 15 times by numerous organizations and has received other impressive accolades including the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Coach in 2000, and for his philanthropic efforts, was selected in 2004 as the Fox Southwest ‘Coach That Makes A Difference.’

The Cavs were undefeated in District 14-6A, ending their 2016 campaign with an overall record of 33 wins, four loses and one tie.  At one point during the season, Lake Travis was the top team on MaxPreps’ high school baseball national rankings.
