BMW of Austin is the official partner of Lake Travis ISD’s web and mobile communications platform, district officials announced today.
The partnership will cover the cost of the district’s agreement with Blackboard Inc., LTISD’s website host and one of the nation’s leading solutions for education technology and school-to-home communications. In exchange, all district and campus websites—as well as the district’s mobile communications app—will be branded with the BMW of Austin logo.
“As the premier partner of the district’s website platform and custom mobile app, BMW of Austin will help drive the digital landscape across our schools, improving school-to-community engagement along the way,” said Brad Lancaster, Ed.D., Lake Travis ISD Superintendent of Schools.
Earlier this year, LTISD launched custom-designed district and campus websites. This fall, the district released a custom mobile app for iOS and Android devices. To date, the LTISD app has been downloaded more than 6,200 times—approximately 60% of its total student enrollment.
“Lake Travis ISD paves the way for excellence in academics, fine arts and athletics,” said Curt Imber, Area Vice President-Texas for Penske Automotive, an international transportation services company that operates automotive and commercial dealerships including BMW of Austin. “We are proud to support Lake Travis along its journey.”
According to Kevin Claypool, Ed.D., Lake Travis ISD’s Director of Development and Corporate Relations, the venture is part of the district's commitment to generate revenue that will fund key services and programs districtwide.
“Our redesigned website platform is the hub of our district’s communication strategy,” said Dr. Lancaster. “These dynamic sites not only allow us to tell the LTISD story through compelling images, videos and content, they are the engines that drive digital learning tools for teachers, students, parents and the greater Lake Travis community.”
Using the latest best practices in school website design, all sites are restructured to provide a more dynamic, consistent, and user-friendly experience. Additionally, all sites are responsive to a variety of displays and devices including desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones. Some of the tools featured across all LTISD campus websites include Google Apps for Education, Schoology, and online textbooks.
“Our new LTISD app connects students, teachers, parents and staff—anytime, anywhere,” said Dr. Lancaster. “It is a one-stop-shop for parents, providing quick and easy access to essential resources like bus routes, lunch menus, the ‘Cavs Who Care’ tip line, and Peachjar e-flyers. We are grateful to BMW of Austin for its investment in education.”
BMW of Austin is an annual sponsor of district and campus events including the Lake Travis ISD Parade of Champions and the Lake Travis High School Homecoming Parade and Extravaganza.
