Food and Nutrition Program Applies 'No Negative Balance' Policy

As the 2016-2017 school year comes to a close, the LTISD Food and Nutrition Services (FANS) department has begun to settle all meal accounts with a negative balance.  Beginning May 15, 2017, students will not be able to charge a meal that would incur a negative balance.  Therefore, if a student’s purchase will result in a negative balance on his/her account, the student will be provided an alternate meal.

"Parents are encouraged to use this opportunity to replenish their child's account so that he or she can make the desired meal selections at the Fuel Café or Cavalier Café," said Traci E. Miller, LTISD Director of Food and Nutrition Services.

Meal pre-payments are accepted in cash or check at each campus café.  In order to ensure proper account credit, cash and check pre-payments must be secured in a labeled envelope and should include the student's full name and ID number.  Checks should be made payable to "LTISD."

Recipients of meal benefits will continue to receive full meals at free or reduced price without interruption.
