Brandy Belk, Lake Travis ISD Assistant Athletic Director, has accepted a position with the University Interscholastic League at the University of Texas at Austin, announced LTISD Superintendent Dr. Brad Lancaster.
Among her many duties as UIL Assistant Athletic Director, Ms. Belk will assist in administering and coordinating UIL Athletic Department programs, rules and related matters to over 1,200 member schools, serving over 800,000 high school athletes in Texas; plan, organize and administer State tournaments and meets; and travel in and out of state to represent UIL in athletic events, committees and functions. She is expected to begin her tenure with the UIL on June 1.
Ms. Belk began her career in public education in 1997 as a PE teacher and coach at Tippit Middle School in the Georgetown school district. After serving as head girls basketball coach at Vista Ridge High School in the Leander school district, she joined the LT family in 2008 and served in various capacities at Lake Travis Middle School. In 2013, Ms. Belk was named LTISD’s first-ever Assistant Athletic Director where she has served with Athletic Director/Head Football Coach Hank Carter to meet the needs of the district’s robust offering of extracurricular programs.
"Without a doubt, Brandy will be greatly missed," Dr. Lancaster added. "However, she will continue to serve as our Assistant AD until the end of the month. In the interim, we will begin the process of hiring her successor. I encourage the Cavalier Nation to kindly extend its congratulations and support to Coach Belk and her family as they prepare to embark on a new and exciting journey."
