Sheriff and ex-Director of Victim Services visit LTHS Forensic Science Students

Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez and former Travis County Director of Victim Services Ellen Halbert paid a visit to Lake Travis High School April 19 to raise awareness about sexual assault. 

Addressing students in the LTHS Forensic Science program, Ms. Halbert gave a moving testimonial to students about her experience as a victim of sexual assault as well as her work with victims and perpetrators with the District Attorney’s office.  Sheriff Hernandez informed students about the prevalence and prevention of sexual assault and the role of law enforcement in handling such cases.    

School Resource Officers Nathan Iacono and Lisa Lucas support the LTHS Forensic Science program and helped coordinate the guest speakers.

Mallory Shackelford is the LTHS Biology and Forensic Science teacher at Lake Travis High School.
